Looking for Alibrandi Chapter 10 and 11

Plot Summary (key events that have happened):
Josie has mixed feelings towards Jacob
cultural differences between Josie and Jacob highlighted

Josie is unsure about jacob she likes jacob but is secretly in love with john
Josie and Jacob have to learn about each other and educate each other so they stop fighting

'...the age of innocence is gone...' p.112 (Josie is telling her mother that she isn't young anymore and is growing up and isnt always going to be young and innocent)

I think that Josie was starting to find herself and had many hurdles on the way

Plot Summary (key events that have happened):


Carly upsets Josie by calling her a wog and Josie hits Carly with a text book and brakes Carly's noes. Josie calls her father (thinking that he wont come seeing she told him to stay out her life) and he comes to her rescue and saves Josie from alot of trouble maybe court, This proves to Josie that she needs a dad and how good it feels to have him.

That nonna had her own problems when she was young and stayed with Francessco to please her sisters needs and we find out that nonna liked a guy called Marcus Standford


argument between Christina and her mother nonna showed that Christina stood up for helself and knew she raised Josie well.


Christina's goes on a date with a doctor. (Josie doesn't want anyone else with her mother she likes it being just her and her mum.)

Carly bishop belongs to the "beautiful people" this shows that there is class, levels of popularity (Pg 80)
"The beautiful people are the ones who have the most modern hairstyles, if long hair is in they've got it if one gets her hair cropped so do all the others. If one comes to school and annouces that they are growing there hair, so do the rest of them."

Josie has her second encounter with Michael Andretti in this chapter

You find out about Nonnas past and how awful it was for her

Josie meets John at a debate 
Josie is jealous because Ivy is perfect for John and they are really good friends already 
John is captain of cook high

Josie is scared that john doesn't like her
Ivy is competition as she is captain and Josie is vice captain

Looking For Alibrandi (Chapter 3)

Chapter (three)


Plot Summary (key events that have happened):
Josie and her grandmother have a massive fight and Josie's grandmother blames Christina for the upbringing of Josie and says Christina is a bad mother,


Challenges faced by the character(s)/information revealed about character (s):
Josie's had a big fight with her Nonna's and tells her mother about the fight after her grandmother had told Christina everything. 


Important quotations (supporting evidence):
' The ritual of having to go to my grandmothers house every afternoon drives me absolutely insane' (pg 33)
'Well if you blame momma and say that its the mothers fault you couldn't of raised momma very well then.'
Personal response (what do you think the chapters were about):
I think that its wrong of Nonna to blame Christina whens she seems to be a great mother especially taken on a child at 16 that's a lot of responsibility

Looking For Alibrandi (Chapter two)

Plot Summary (key events that had happened):

In this chapter Sera manages to convince all the girls to get in her boyfriends car and he would drive them to school, which meant they where all late for school the sisters wait out side of school for girls to arrive and as Josies punishment she had to make a speech at have a say day. Josie is sitting next to Jacob Coote at the have a say day and they get talking but doesn't want people to see them talking.
Jacob asked Josie what she is going to be talking about which then makes him change his mind about what he is going to be talking about, she was impressed with his speech and the fact he remembered her from the lane when he bullied her. Josie has a weird relationship with Lee she is one of her most trusted friends although they pretend they have nothing in common but can talk for hours on any subject, they pretend they are on different level classes although they are both middle class scholarships and they will live identical futures.

Challenges faced by character(s) /information revealed about character (s):
Josie is late for school because Sera made her boyfriend take them to school and her punishment for that is speaking at have a say day 

Important quotations (supporting evidence):
'Josephine, you are so wonderful at making up stories, I'm sure you can handle it.'
this shows that Josie makes up stories to get herself out of trouble and she is also really good at debating so that is a bonus.
Personal response (what do you think the chapters were about):
I thought that this chapter was all about have a say day and Josie unravelled characters true identity. Such as her close friends and Jacob Coote.
